Introduction
All of the tools that were used to compare various asset classes in the prior chapter can be applied to the analysis of trends and relative value within a given asset class, too. You can subdivide an asset class in numerous ways so that you can develop themes about which segments of the market are either driving returns or increasing or decreasing volatility and also analyze where there are relative value misalignments. This analysis should help you to develop investment themes and strategies and observe trends that are evolving in the markets.
