Before proceeding with the installation, there are some prerequisites that must be met in order to implement VDP:
- DNS configuration: The DNS server must support forward (A record) and reverse (PTR record) lookup for both VDP appliance and vCenter Server using the IP addresses and the FQDN. The VMware proxy nodes also require communication to DNS (port 53) over both TCP and UDP protocols. Make sure DNS configuration is properly working by running the nslookup command on the vCenter Server using the VDP and vCenter Server FQDN.
