Abstract
Cancer represents a widespread medical challenge that is being faced by the world. It is being regularly explored by scientists and researchers due to its high rate of mortality. In the preceding few years, deaths caused by cancer have been on the rise. Studies have shown that developed nations like the USA are also suffering due to cancer with more than 7 lakh deaths and 3 million new cancer patients every year. The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) represents one of the well-known Computational Intelligence (CI) techniques that can handle complex datasets and produced the desired outputs. ANNs are effective mechanisms that are widely employed for constructing prediction models for cancer. Keeping these points in mind, this chapter presents an exhaustive survey of ANN techniques used for cancer risk estimation.
