I am delighted to write the foreword for this important and useful book on Microsoft’s
product for database modeling and design. When Microsoft acquired Visio Corporation
a few years ago, it gained not only a suite of two-dimensional drawing technologies,
but also state-of-the-art technologies for both database and software modeling that
could be extended and adapted to blend harmoniously with Microsoft software envi-
ronments.
