19.1 INTRODUCTION

Since data are a crucial raw material in the information age, the preceding chapters focussed on data storage and its management for efficient database design and the process of implementation. These chapters mostly devoted on good database design, controlled data redundancy and produced effective operational databases to fulfil business needs, such as, tracking customers, sales, inventories and so on, to facilitate in the management of decision-making.
