Using Wi-Fi and NFC

Your a77 II is equipped with a built-in Wi-Fi system that can be used for transferring files to a networked computer, networked HDTV, or to a smartphone or tablet computer. As we’ll see later, there’s also an option (with an app) to use the smartphone or tablet as a remote controller for the camera. The a77 II includes both traditional Wi-Fi capabilities and a newer protocol called Near Field Communications (NFC), which allows linking devices directly without an intervening network. This chapter provides an introduction to NFC and making Wi-Fi connections. You’ll learn how to transfer photos to a computer or to a smart device.
