Additionally, you were introduced to the DAX language by creating columns, measures, and tables using DAX. Finally, you learned how to “think” in DAX and were presented a single DAX pattern that can solve most problems, the No CALCULATE pattern.
In this chapter, we expand your knowledge of basic DAX with topics that will be useful throughout the more complex scenarios presented in this book. This includes how to debug your DAX, lookup values, group rows, add columns, etc. First, however, let’s explain what is meant by No CALCULATE vs. CALCULATE.
