It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

3.5.2 Performance
You must ensure that the application heap size (APPLHEAPSZ) database
configuration parameter is set to 128 to provide sufficient memory page space
when Recovery Expert is running. This parameter can be set in a similar way as
described above for the LOGRETAIN parameter using the Control Center (in the
Performance tab) or the DB2 Command Line processor.

By default, if LOGRETAIN is set to RECOVERY, all logs (active and archived) are
