DB2 as a Web Services Consumer
DB2 UDB v8.1.2 enables you to integrate Web services data into your database tables and database applications. This ability to be a Web services consumer is provided by the SOAP UDFs. The SOAP UDFs enable all the SQL statements that DB2 executes, including stored procedures, to become SOAP clients and request Web services from SOAP servers.
All Web services are described by their own WSDL file, which identifies details relevant to a Web service's communications and capabilities.
