DB2 as a Web Service Provider
In addition to accessing Web services, you can configure your DB2 UDB v8.1.2 database server to host Web services. For example, you can expose a number of stored procedures as Web services to provide simple and flexible access to your database. By using Web services, you can greatly simplify application implementation and deployment. Web-service-enabled client applications do not need to use SQL to call stored procedures, and the computers running the client applications do not require the presence of a DB2 Run-Time Client.
You can leverage much of your existing application logic using Web services by incorporating them into DB2 Web services.
