The speed of your Internet service and the condition of your equipment often has more to do with Internet performance than your browser does. However, a browser bogged down with toolbars, add-ons, and unnecessary files and data will cause problems. You have to manage what Internet Explorer has attached to it, and disable unwanted items. You also need to manage temporary Internet files, cookies, and other data you collect over time, as well as manage Favorites. You can make IE run faster; I can certainly vouch that my Internet browsing is noticeably faster after writing this chapter!
