Having the right level of care when you have dementia doesn’t come cheaply. And the amount of work family members put in as non-professional carers is not without its costs either, no matter how much it’s motivated by love.

Fortunately, to help with the cost of care, some government benefits are available for both dementia sufferers and their carers. Many of the benefits are financially means tested.
