As the Founding Father, the first Vice President and the Second President of the United States of America, John Adams, was also instrumental in selecting the Committee of Five, charged with drafting the Declaration of Independence. Adams chose himself, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R. Livingston, and Roger Sherman but it was his decision later that would forever seal his leadership legacy and statesmanship in the history of the United States of America.
