As manufactured products become more complex, the processes to create them and the fault diagnosis of the resulting processes become more complex as well. A framework to perform computer-assisted fault diagnosis of manufacturing processes is described. A proof-of-concept system is developed and demonstrated on a polypropylene-film manufacturing plant.
