The completion of a building development is just the start of creating a living built environment. Steps should be taken to ensure that the principles of integrating biodiversity are continued beyond the direct involvement of the design and development team. Wildlife is a great way to connect people with their environment. Buildings with design features for encouraging wildlife can give occupants the chance to engage with their environment and provide opportunities to get involved with the ongoing maintenance, monitoring and improvement of the features built for biodiversity.
