Introduction

Due to the complexity inherent in an open system like a project, much of the research in project management relies on case studies and other qualitative research techniques. However, many research questions can be successfully asked and answered using survey-based research. This article assists researchers who wish to employ surveys, using examples from our own experience and explaining the lessons we learned along the way.
