Chapter 8. Virtual Private Network Load Balancing
VPN load balancing (VPNLB) provides the scalability and availability that enterprise and service provider customers are looking for. VPN load balancing allows customers to scale their VPN infrastructures easily by simply adding new devices while at the same time improving the redundancy level.
The idea behind VPNLB is to use a load balancer device to distribute the VPN sessions across a group of IP Security (IPsec) protocol devices, thus allowing customers to add or remove devices as needed.
