Current practice: categories and features of library tutorials


Generally, educators, and especially librarians, design tutorials that reflect the local practices of their library and institution. Their practice is varied in terms of the types of tutorials they create. The design and software used to create tutorials also varies, but typically falls into several categories: web-based tutorials using screenshots; narrated PowerPoints; tutorials used with screencasting software; podcasting; and videos.
