Assessment of learning objects

Abstract:

The assessment of learning objects occurs in multiple stages, from the inception of a project through completion and then periodically thereafter. Assessment needs to be an ongoing process to ensure continued effectiveness, especially with learning objects. An outdated web-based tutorial, for example, could misinform, frustrate, and probably irritate participants. This chapter describes the role assessment plays in learning object design, and includes various assessment strategies that can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of learning objects.
