Meaningful Events
Class begins. I’m seated in the front row, notebook open and waiting for sage inscription. I glance about with enthusiasm. This is a favorite subject of mine. The professor smiles at me as he begins his lecture, but my enthusiasm quickly turns to fear and panic. I have almost no comprehension of what the instructor is saying. Unfamiliar terms and concepts meaningless to me are tossed out to the grateful, head-nodding groupies surrounding me. Even the questions they volley back are babble in my ears. The professor turns and asks me an incomprehensible question. I awake sweating.
