If you are building your workflow components on a Windows platform, then you can wrap some script control structures around the tools available there. There is considerable support for scripting applications on Windows.
A variety of different scripting languages have been developed by Microsoft over the years, all of which continue to evolve and become more sophisticated with each new variant of the operating system that is introduced. Most of these languages are aggregated together under the heading of “active scripting.”
