Pressure Buildup
Pressure Buildup: The rate at which pressure builds up after a ow period.
It is related to permeability, uid viscosity, pressure differential, hole vol-
ume, zone thickness, and time.
Pressure-Dependent Permeability: (1) The permeability that increases as
driving pressure increases, such as opening fractures wider at higher pres-
sure. (2) Modications to the character of the rock through the matrix or nat-
ural fractures, where the permeability is a function of the pressure applied
to the rock through uid pressure or earth stresses.
Pressure Depletion: A method of producing a reservoir when water drive
is not available ...
