Steampunk Pavilion, Tallinn, Estonia 2019. Designed by Gwyllim Jahn & Cameron Newnham (Fologram), Soomeen Hahm Design, Igor Pantic.
By photographing the project and using that image as the initial input to an AI design tool, designers can explore even more design possibilities, refining and iterating on their original designs. While AI‐generated images may not be a replacement for human creativity and decision‐making, they can be a valuable tool in the design process, saving time and resources while inspiring new avenues of innovation and creativity.
Through the metamorphosis of the Steampunk Pavilion into a dwelling, a dream home has been born, bridging the realm of design and architecture with the intimacy of personal space. Rather than merely replicating the original building's curvature, our design approach sought to preserve the inherent beauty of the project that arises from the material tensions at play. Specifically, horizontal lines were turned into a large cantilever and extended canopy to create a more dynamic shape.
