17 Colour management
Why has the vital area of colour management been left until so late in this book? The answer is three-fold. Firstly, within the sphere of home digital photography, colour management is not an issue that requires special attention most of the time. Secondly, digital cameras are largely preset devices within which there is usually no option to alter the colour space used. And thirdly, it is not possible to profile a digital camera as a colour device per se: the best that can be done is to calibrate it for one exact set of circumstances.
