Abstract

The curation of digital heritage collections entails a sequence of related activities throughout the digital content lifecycle, which brings various related curation activities into the workflow involving various specialists in the archives, libraries, academic departments, and administrative units. The scope and extent of curation programs vary from organization to organization and range from extensive curation initiatives at large institutions designating entire departments for digital curation to small-scale curation efforts at smaller institutions with a solo curator or none, with most curation initiatives falling between these extremes.
