An interesting exercise is to assume you were just fired from your current job. Or as Andy Grove, the CEO of Intel puts it: “If the board got rid of us and took over the company, what would they do differently than what we are currently doing? Why don’t we do that right now, why don’t we walk out that door and come back in and do what they (the board) would do?”
Taking Grove’s thought process one-step further, ask yourself this question: If you, your company, or your product no longer existed what would be the loss to society? To your family? If your answer is it wouldn’t create much of a void, you may reconsider your purpose. Don’t forget ...
