Assignment 19Pure Colors

“We are making photographs to understand what our lives mean to us.”

—Ralph Hattersley

Purpose: To Recognize and Photograph Pure Colors.

Part 1

For this assignment, you will need to locate six distinct compositions, one each of the three primary and three secondary colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. As much as possible try to avoid having other colors appear in each image. Retain texture and shadows so that the subject will be recognizable.

Any lens can be used for this project but you will find it easier if you can use either a macro lens or close-up diopter filters (a set of three or four filters can be purchased on eBay for $20 or less at the time of this writing) to isolate small areas.
