Purpose: To Create the Illusion of Three Dimensions through the Use of Light.
There are many ways to create the illusion of three dimensions in a two-dimensional photograph. One is through the use of geometry: converging lines; larger objects in relation to smaller objects; and so on. Another is through the use of color: bright colors advance; dark colors recede. A third method is through the use of shadow and light.
