END-TO-END TRANSPARENCY AND TRUST THROUGH BLOCKCHAIN
Blockchain technology is evolving into a potential launching pad for digital transformation in general and the digital supply network (DSN) in particular. In this chapter, we discuss what blockchain technology is, how it works, and evolving designs. We examine how it can potentially add greater visibility, flexibility, and efficiency across the entire supply chain by optimizing business transactions and trading relationships, and how it can enable DSNs. We start with an illustrative proof-of-concept application.
