Abstract
This chapter delves into the differences between integrating analog cameras and IP cameras and how to choose the best method for area of coverage. Existing analog cameras may limit the amount of detail within the video image, but they can provide a cost-effective method for expanding the area of coverage by integrating them into a new digital video surveillance system using digital video encoders and complementing the system with newer IP and/or megapixel cameras.
