William H. Kersting received his BSEE from New Mexico State University (NMSU), Las Cruces, NM and his MSEE from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Prior to attending graduate school and for a year after graduate school, he was employed by El Paso Electric Company as a distribution engineer. He joined the faculty at NMSU in 1962 and served as a professor of electrical engineering and from 1968 as the director of the Electric Utility Management Program until his retirement in 2002. He is currently a consultant for Milsoft Utility Solutions.
