Create a shell file that launches your ANT build file.

Complete the exercise Create an ANT build file.

Now that you have an ANT build file, you need to choose how to run it. The startcmd.sh script won’t be an option much longer, and the new DITA command requires typing and textual folder navigation. Ick. My favorite method remains a simple shell file. With a shell file, you can run one or more builds by typing a single command.

  1. In the DITA-OT folder, make a copy of startcmd.sh (Mac, Linux).
  2. Rename the copy to reflect the purpose of the build or the title of the output.

    For example, WidgetUserGuide.sh.
