Specify fonts to use

Specify, in your custom PDF plugin, which fonts you’re going to use.

The first step is to make sure your PDF renderer knows where all your fonts are (and, of course, that the fonts you want to use are actually in that location). FOP automatically looks for fonts in a default location, depending on your operating system. For Windows, this location is the Fonts folder. For Macintosh, there are two locations: the Library/Fonts folder and the Library/Fonts folder in your Users folder. For Linux, the location varies depending on your Linux distribution (the most common location is /usr/share/fonts). Because this book’s exercises use FOP, there’s nothing more to do here.
