Add a background image to a page

Place a background or watermark image in a specific location.

Background images are especially useful when you want to place a watermark or logo in a fixed position under text or other page content without interfering with the content’s flow. In this exercise, you’ll add a background image to the cover page.

  1. Place the background image in DITA-OT/plugins/com.company.pdf/cfg/common/artwork/.
    Tip: The artwork folder is a good place to keep background images, logos, and header/footer images, because it keeps your plugin self-contained.
  2. In layout-masters-attr.xsl, find the region-body__frontmatter.odd attribute set.
