Chapter 16. Table of Contents
The DITA Open Toolkit makes it easy to add a Table of Contents (TOC) to your PDF. Many traditional desktop publishing applications treat the TOC as a separate file that must be generated and updated separately during the publishing process. When you create a PDF using the Open Toolkit, the TOC is not a separate file; it’s generated as an integral part of the process.
The creation of a Table of Contents is automated within the DITA Open Toolkit’s PDF plugin, but there is a lot you can do to change the look and feel as well as the information included.
