Arrive early to beat the queue for one of Seville’s most recognizable landmarks, La Giralda, the minaret-cum-bell tower next to the vast cathedral. The tomb of Christopher Columbus can be found inside the cathedral, along with a wealth of lavish artworks, but the highlight is the extraordinary view from the top of the tower. Nearby, the Bodega Santa Cruz makes an excellent tapas stop – try the spinach with chickpeas, a local speciality (Calle Rodrigo Cano 1; 95 421 86 18).
