Book description

It describes the current state of image coding, examining multiresolution image representation, advanced coding and modeling techniques, and perceptual issues. It also introduces new research fields, including image coding by means of new image representation paradigms, application of the distributed source coding paradigm to image compression, and exploitation of novel data hiding techniques.
