Groups

A group is a set of members where a member can be a user or another group. A group contained in another group is referred to as a nested group and it provides implicit membership to its direct members. Groups can be nested repeatedly and the implicit membership is transitive through the nested hierarchy.

In our example scenario, suppose that a group zone1_loanofficer is created to represent the loan officers from zone 1. It contains John as a member. Further, zone1_loanofficer is a member of another group zone1_all. Implicitly, John is a member of zone1_all as well. If zone1_all is a member of zone_all group, then John is also an implicit member of zone_all group. The following figure illustrates this example:
