“How will I live without Alexa?” a genuine question from my 10-year-old daughter while we were moving home earlier this year. She is proof that voice will be a central part of the human–digital interface. Not just because of what it can do already, that is book a cab, play your music, turn up the heating, or add items to your shopping list, but because of what its potential is.
