Resume Construction Template and Tips

Keep your resume clear and simple and presented in a logical format. Hiring managers often prefer to see your most recent experiences at the top and the dates of each employment experience. The first employment experience that a hiring manger will look at as they scan a stack of resumes is the first line that describes your most recent or current employment. If you don't get their attention on that line, you may lose them. Below is a basic template that will allow you to highlight your value. There are many different forms of resumes, and many different experts in resume writing that will prefer one form over another, but we recommend a chronological format. Seek the guidance of mentors in your particular career for advice and assistance in identifying the appropriate form and contents of a resume. (Note: If you are seeking employment with the federal government, the resume format that you should follow is very different from those of most other industries.
