‘Sketching’ by computer

There is an assumption that sketching is only done by hand, and that it remains the quintessence of ‘artistic’ creativity. Such a perception confuses technique with quality, and ignores the fact that drawings made on computer can have the values – and even the ambiguities – of a handmade sketch.
