MAKING SOME SORT OF RECORD of our lives seems to be a basic human need. We write or draw, take photographs, and tell our stories to whoever will listen. Creating art is a way of expressing our feelings about the stories we live and the stories of others.
In my Girls series, I am telling the story of my life at that moment. It’s not so much about what the girls are doing, but what they are thinking and feeling. Here is an excerpt from my artist statement about this series:
