Visual notes

Visual note-taking is a way to record ideas about a journey or experience in a city, allowing an analysis of the information within the city as it is encountered, a mixture of sketches overlaid with text. This sort of information can later act as a prompt for important observations or be added to a drawing to indicate particular ideas. When experiencing a site for the first time, it is useful to walk around it noting down important features and observations, drawing small sketches to record building heights, form, and scale, and then using a layer of text over the drawing to explain particular points of reference.
