Outline and photography

A photograph is a useful starting point when breaking down the elements of a site in a way that is easy to understand. The original photograph can be drawn over in Photoshop to highlight important aspects of the site. This technique may be used to frame particular points of interest or details, or it may be used to identify particular buildings or sites for consideration or development. This use of outline is a simple but effective device that can transform a photograph into a tool for focusing attention on particular considerations of a view. Different colors can be used and linked to a key, for example to identify ownership or land use in a city.
