The government of the Spanish province and community of Rioja held a competition (won by architects MVRDV) for the extension to Logroño.

The Eco City designed by MVRDV in collaboration with GRAS envisages the construction of 3,000 social homes and a complementary development program. The new neighborhood will achieve a carbon-neutral footprint by producing renewable energy on site.
