Scaling Scrum Without Frameworks

Chapter 15 talked about common responses to friction that obstruct Scrum’s effectiveness. I intentionally omitted any discussion of how teams decide to scale their Scrum from that chapter, because I see so many mistakes happening when people try to scale their Scrum. When you make the wrong choices in scaling your Scrum, it can completely disrupt your team’s ability to deliver value with Scrum.

Because of the potentially disastrous impact of scaling frameworks, I wanted to devote special attention to this subject with a separate chapter. Let me start by telling a story from my personal experience with scaling.
