Creating a custom node type

In this recipe, we will be adding a custom node type using the CCK package. As an example, we will be creating a type named company to hold information about a company along with details, such as its address, telephone number, e-mail address, and so on.

Getting ready

It is assumed that the CCK package has been downloaded and installed. Besides the Content module, only the Text module is a prerequisite for this recipe.

How to do it...

The CCK package integrates into Drupal's content management pages and can be accessed by navigating to admin/content/types (Home | Administer | Content management | Content types). Perform the following steps to add the new type:
