Using a hosted server from a web host provider is the easiest and best route to follow. If you are adventurous and want to setup Open Atrium on your own computer, then you should follow the local web server instructions. A hosted server will be the easiest to set up because we do not have to deal with configuring a local machine to run the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP). However, you will have more control over your web server if it is locally hosted and won't need to be connected to the internet to run Open Atrium.
