User roles

Open Atrium out of the box comes with four predefined roles, which are as follows:

  • Anonymous user
  • Authenticated user
  • Admin
  • Manager

If your organization structure warrants it you may wish to add additional roles. However, adding additional roles may make it more difficult to update your installation of Open Atrium with a future release. The role instructions are exactly the same for a normal Drupal installation without Open Atrium and examples are provided here strictly for reference.

Each role allows you to configure a special set of permissions; for example, you may want to add a simple employee role or expand the levels of managerial roles by adding a Department Manager role. To add a new role, you can click on the wrench at the upper left. ...
