Chapter 7. Document Library

The document library is referred to in Open Atrium as the Notebook. Its functionality is similar to the functionality of a Wiki. In Drupal, this functionality is provided by the "book" core module. This module allows us to structure content in a similar manner that we would structure a book. Notebooks can have volumes, chapters, pages, and subpages that maintain a hierarchy with one another, so that the content can be organized in a consistent manner.

In this chapter, we will cover the main features of the Notebook:

  • Adding book pages and organizing them hierarchically
  • Attaching files to pages, so that others can view them
  • Tracking and reverting changes as necessary
  • Archiving books that are no longer needed
